Our Morning...

This morning I got out of the shower to hear both boys yelling for me. I tripped over Lucy as I got to Gabe’s room, where he was yelling that he needed to go to the bathroom and couldn’t hold it much longer. He ran to the bathroom in too big of a hurry to even turn on the light. I got Josy up and went back to the bathroom to tell Gabe that if I’m in the shower he can get out of bed and go to the bathroom. Suddenly I hear a splash. I turn on the light to see Lucy stuck in the pee filled toilet. She manages to climb out, spraying pee water all over Gabe, me and the entire bathroom. Needless to say, Gabe got a shower, I got another half shower, Lucy got a shower and now I need to wash all the towels in the house. What a way to start the day...

An Addendum...

Actually, having a kitten and a 4-year-old is pretty fun too...

Lucy

I definitely recommend getting a kitten and a baby at the same time. The kitten thinks she’s a baby and just uses all of the baby’s stuff! Also, the baby likes playing with the cat toys too. Okay, that one is actually a little gross, as both Lucy and Josy will carry around Lucy’s stuffed mouse toy, but other than that, it’s been great! Lucy even cleans up spitup messes from the floor...

Too Cute...

This picture is so cute that it deserves a post all by itself...

Quite a Week...

Image
It’s been quite a week. Well, it’s been quite a week for everyone, really. There are very few words to explain how the last week or two have gone, so I’m going to just post pictures of our week. This guy looks happy now, but he’s had a nasty double ear infection for over a week. He needed shots to get over it. He was supposed to get tubes, but that got canceled over all of the other drama. It is really nice to have our happy little guy back. Josy and Lucy are figuring out how to get along. Gabe hasn’t seen the Wizard of Oz, otherwise I’d say that this was his Wicked Witch of the East impression. Such a happy boy... One of Gabe’s teachers made him an eye patch, which he was obsessed with. Gabe decided he wanted to be a baby for dinner... Peek-a-boo... Poor Gabe had a rough day at school the other day. First, he got hit in the face with a snowball that had some ice in it. His nose and eyebrows got all scratched up. Then a few hours later, one of the new preschoolers pushed him off the lo

Spaghetti

Image
Last week (back before there was a pasta shortage...) Gabe asked for Spaghetti and Meatballs for dinner. That seemed reasonable, so I bought the stuff. When I got home, he wanted to help, which I couldn’t turn down. I put him in charge of making meatballs. He rolled all of them all by himself and then he rolled them all in flour. He just had a couple of meatballs left to roll when he suddenly had a bathroom situation, so I had to finish it up. But other than that, he made the meatballs all by himself! And it was a super delicious dinner too!

Just like Daddy

Image
Both of my boys want to be just like Daddy. On Saturday Pat was working on a house project, so he was wearing his tool belt. I didn’t even know that Gabe knew he was working...until suddenly Gabe walked downstairs wearing his hard hat and safety vest and had all of his tools shoved in his back pockets. The kid may need a toolbelt... Then Josy decided to get in on the action and he just decided that he needed to help Daddy....by getting close enough to eat his tools. They’ll both be really good helpers...in a few years. And don’t worry, I’m getting rid of Josy’s pants. They were so cute that I wanted to get one more day out of them, but now they’re done. Right now those pants would be better for a plumbing job...

Josy

Image
Josy insisted on bringing a toy in the car and it was one of the cutest things ever. It may help that the red one was Gabe’s favorite toy in the whoke world, simply because it was red... He found a “doot-do-da-loo” at church. One of the fun things about the second (or third) kid is watching them do the things the big brother did... His hair is starting to get a little crazy!!! We’ll see what we end up with... And the most exciting Josy news is that he’s slept though the night over half of the days in the last two weeks and he’s even had a cold! I don’t want to jinx anything, but I’m very excited about this!!!

Bella’s Birthday

Image
Yesterday was Bella’s birthday. She’s now 14. 14! How is that even possible??? She was 4 when Pat and I started dating, which means that she’s been a part of my life is nearly a decade. Wow. But this year, her birthday was hard. Really hard. She hasn’t been living with us for several months now and she definitely needs to be where she is, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s hard to not be with your kid on their birthday. We FaceTimed with her on Thursday and yesterday she had pizza and cake with some friends, so I know that she had a good time. But this is the first big thing of hers that we’ve missed since she left. And it’s been hard. So this morning, we’re making egg sandwiches for breakfast, in honor or her birthday.

9 Months

Image
Somehow Josy is now 9 months old. If anyone has any advice on how to slow time down, I’m all ears... He is now crawling everywhere, pulling himself up to standing and sometimes even climbing things. He wiggles everywhere, so diaper changes and getting dressed are getting interesting. He’s figuring out how to make funny sounds and has developed a lovely high pitches screech, which isn’t my favorite... He and Lucy are figuring out how to get along, although there have been a few cheek scratches in the process. He is still a happy, content little guy, he’s just getting noisier about it...
