This week is Sea Week so this morning I left Gabe with my parents and met Bella's class at the beach to look at tide pools. It was a lot of fun and I don't normally get to do it because of work, so I was glad to get to this year.
I didn't take pictures of all of the animals that they found, but they found a lot, including a baby octopus. I also learned that loons are "super annoying." I'd always liked them, but apparently I was wrong...
Tomorrow we sign all the papers and all of this house stuff will be all official. I’m glad it will all be done! Even though everything is lining up exactly the way it should, I’m still paranoid that something is going to happen and this whole thing will fall apart. When the ink is dry, I think I’ll feel better. But tonight I went to the old house for the last time. And not surprisingly, it made me way more emotional that it probably should have. While we were dating, I sat at that bar for many hours talking while Pat cooked me dinner. That’s the room where Pat told Bella her mom had died. Pat proposed to me in the dining room. I sat on the couch for a month in the living room while on bedrest. And that’s the house where we brought our tiny baby home from the hospital. We’ve lived a lot of life in that house. It’s funny. I almost didn’t want to marry Pat because I didn’t want to deal with his house. And now, 5 years later, I’m struggling to leave it. I know we’ll make many other w...
G: Do we lick bowels? M: Only if they’re full of ice cream. G: You’re joking me! Every morning Gabe watches Blippi when he wakes up and I go back to bed. He’s allowed to watch only Blippi and if another show turns on, he had to turn it off or he looses his Blippi privileges. This morning he came bursting into our bedroom and says "Mommy, did I lose the privilege???" Apparently another show had turned on... Also, what three year old talks like that??? M: Bella is getting her braces off. G: And then she’ll be a mom? M: What? No. Getting your braces off and being a mom are not connected. G: That’s a bummer. We went to the grocery store and Gabe saw one of the driving carts in the parking lot and asked if we could use that cart. I told him that it was wet because of the rain, so he might get wet. His response? "I’ll survive." How old is this child??? Gabe loves his little brother so much. He regularly talks about how "he’s ours forever!" He gets h...
I've thought of a few things since I posted that last random update. He loves to clap. He's very proud of himself for clapping and everytime he does something fun, like waving or listening, he has to clap for himself. He's also started smacking his belly like he's playing the drums. It's more fun when he's not wearing a shirt, but he can play the drums even with a shirt on. ------------------------- He has a favorite color. I know that sounds ridiculous and I never would believe that a baby could have a favorite color if I hadn't seen it myself. Gabe likes red. He has a giraffe with neck pieces that are different colors. He knocks over the giraffe just so he can get the red piece. He sticks it in his mouth and carries it around the house. He doesn't care about the blue, green or purple one, just the red one. ------------------------------ He loves putting things on his head. He doesn't care what it is. Clothes, toys, bibs, Bella's ski helmet, you...
