A Weekend of Celebrating

Image
Every couple of years my birthday falls on Father’s Day. Obviously this creates a crisis of celebration, so we shifted Father’s Day to Saturday and we each got our own day, and we ended up with an entire weekend of celebrating. Pat grilled a fancy steak for Father’s Day and he made my a rack of lamb for my birthday, which was his favorite way to celebrate. We also went out to the beach and played for a while. It was low key, but it was a pretty good weekend.

Baseball

This week was all about baseball. Josy had two games. Gabe had a practice and two games. This week they were on different nights, so we all got to go to all of the games. This week they are all on top of each other, so that’s going to make life much more complicated… Tball is going well. I mean, as well as tball possibly can… However, baseball is going really well. The kids are actually playing ball. At the last game, the other team even turned a double play!

5

Somehow my baby turned 5. I do not know how that is possible. He and I made an agreement when he was a baby that he was never going to grow up and he is not keeping up his end of the bargain!! Poor kid actually had a rough morning. The night before he’d gotten his finger smashed by a kid at the park during Gabe’s game. It was pretty painful and he was still feeling it when he woke up. I asked him if I I could take a happy birthday picture and he said no, “a mad picture.” The day did get better, but it started out rough. But a fun day with Gram and Gramps apparently made him forget about the whole finger incident and we got to have a birthday party to celebrate our little guy. I asked him what he wanted for dinner and he said Mac and Cheese. Obviously he wanted it from the box. None of the rest of us wanted to eat, so I had to get a little creative. I made him Mac and Cheese from a box. I made homemade Mac and Cheese for the rest of us, then air fried some coconut shrimp and Pat made a ...

Last Day of School

Friday was the last day of 2nd grade. It’s a good thing too, as his uniforms are toast and are all going in the garbage. But now he’s a 3rd grader and I don’t know how that is possible.

Josy’s Birthday Party

Image
Yesterday we had Josy’s birthday party. I think we’re going to stop having his party at the park, as this is the third year in a row that it has poured on his birthday. Next year he gets an inside party, no matter what. That said, it may have been wet and cold, but the kids all had fun and it was really good to celebrate our littlest guy.
