Friday was the last day of 2nd grade. It’s a good thing too, as his uniforms are toast and are all going in the garbage. But now he’s a 3rd grader and I don’t know how that is possible.
Josy is a funny little boy. The things that come out of his mouth are the best. And sometimes he describes things in a really funny way. Yesterday we went on a bike ride and there was a worm on the plastic wind cover, but he kept telling me that there was a worm on the windshield and it took me a while to figure it what he was talking about. I thought he saw a stick on a car’s windshield that we drive past… J: We need to get out our Halloween decorations. M: Oh, we already did. J: Where are they??? M: We don’t have any. So they’re already out. J: We need to get some! M: No. I don’t do anything scary. J: It’s not scary. It’s just a pot. M: What? J: The pot at Home Depot, with the fake blood. We need to get it. M: No J: It does not give me nightmares. The guy with the beak and the goggles, that gave me nightmares. ———— J: It would be cool if my lunchbox had batteries! Then I could play video games! M: That would be weird. J: Not weird. Awesome. Then I could play video games all the time....
Josy started ski lessons for the year! It was our first time up the mountain and, um, there’s very little snow so it was a good thing it was our first time… But we had fun. While Josy was at his lesson, Catherine and I got to go skiing together for the first time ever. Then after lunch Josy and I got to ski together for awhile. And this one is entirely too independent for his own good and decided that he can go up the chairlift all by himself…and then not wait for me at the bottom. He even went up with a friend! Meanwhile these two were in Seattle at an appointment, missing all of the fun!
I finished my blanket! I started it back at Christmas and it’s been a fun project to have for the last four months. The hexes were fun to do since they were easy to take places rather than toting around a giant blanket. I’ve already bought the yarn to make another one…
