Catching up on Pictures

Image
I'm still having issues posting pictures from my phone, but I'm on my computer at the moment and can catch up on a few of them.  Bella, Gabe and I all had a dentist appointment.  I didn't take a picture of Bella, since she does this all the time, but between the three of us, we had no cavities! This was Pat and I on our 23w4 celebration last Sunday. I was folding laundry and Gabe decided to put his own laundry away.  I did fix it later, but the sweet boy did this without me asking him, so I'll take it. We've had a bit of snow and he thought it would be fun to go the wrong way off the porch.  He quickly decided that this was not a good plan... I had to take playdough to school, so the kids decided to make sure it was good before I took it to school.  The verdict is that it makes great snails and therefore was good enough for school.

A Grill?

G:  I'm a boy! M:  Yep. G:  And you're a grill! M:  No!  I'm not a grill. G:  You're a drill! M:  No.  I'm a girl. G:  I can't say that word.  But I can say grill and drill.

23w4

Today I’m 23 weeks 4 days pregnant! Normally this isn’t a huge deal, but in our world it is because it’s the day that Gabe was born. Now no matter what, this baby will be in longer than Gabe! Hopefully he’ll be in at least 12 weeks longer, but right now I’ll take whatever I can get. Needless to say, Pat and I went out to celebrate. The emotional and mental game of being pregnant after a micropreemie has been rough. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to breath a bit easier now that this milestone has passed.

Figuring out God...

Gabe has this friend that we'll call N.  They met at school when they were babies and instantly became little buddies.  It may have helped that N was the only other boy in a room full of girls, but still.  Then when school started this last year, N's big sister started kindergarten and it didn't make sense for their family to keep him in daycare, so he left school to stay home with his dad.  Gabe and N still see each other at the fieldhouse sometime, but as much as I'd love to get them together for more playdates, life seems to cause problems and that never happens. Gabe invited N to his birthday party in December and was super excited that he was there.  Then this last weekend, it was N's birthday, so we went to the pool for a party.  Gabe was so excited.  He spent the whole day talking about N's birthday party and then when we got to the pool, he just kept asking where N was.  When we were in the changing room getting ready to get in the pool, he thought he

My Silly Child...

More funny Gabe moments... Seriously, is this entire blog turning into funny things he says??? M: Gabe, we’re not going to name the baby Santa, but do you have any other idea for names for the baby? G: Yes. Blippi. M: Okay. We’re not going to name the baby Blippi. Anything else? G: How about Candy Cane? Or Cake? Actually, Cake. Then today he told me he wanted to name him Bob Bartlett or Ernest Gruening. (Our first senators) ———— G: Do bakers talk? M: Yes. Bakers are regular people, they just like to bake things. G: Like Sandwiches? And gingerbreadmans? M: Yes G: Do they catch the gingerbreadmans? M: Uh, only when they try and run away? ———— I was leaving the gas station and put the car in drive before it was on, so the car beeped and refused to turn on. G: Mommy, did the car just beep? M: Yes, I just jumped the gun. G: You have a gun? M: No, I mean that I did things out of order. G: With a gun? So, I explained to him about starting a
