A Good Day for a Walk

Image
The weather was beautiful on Saturday and we all needed to get out of the house and to go on an adventure, so we skipped naptime and went to one of our favorite trails. The double stroller has an issue with its tire, so we had to make a double stroller. The river washed out a bunch of the trail, so we only made it about 3/4 of the way until we got a point where the stroller wouldn’t go any further. Luckily there wasa super awesome log to play on. For awhile the boys were pretending it was a bus they were driving. Then it became a fishing boat. Then it was time to head home, but Daddy had a “no sticks in the stroller” policy, so they both opted to walk back rather than drop their sticks. Josy actually made it 3/4 of the way back before he dropped his stick and climbed in the stroller. Gabe dutifully picked up and carried to back to the car for him. However, it took him awhile, because Josy’s fishing pole doubled as a whip and he had to vanquish his mortal enemy, the devil’s club, before

A Relay with Bear, the Exercising Bear

Image
I left for the weekend to run my big relay race. I needed a pillow, so I asked Gabe if I could bring Bear, the Exercising Bear and he agreed, as long as I took pictures. So I did. And he made a lovely pillow and running partner. After a long ferry ride, we made it to town and started running. The first half of the team started running and the rest of us got some sleep. Then we met up with our team just as the sun was coming up. Hanging out at the checkpoint, waiting for our runner. She made it! Bear, the Exercising Bear may have eaten all of the snacks. He also did a great job of cheering as Julia was running her leg. He may have made a bit stop… Then we got ready to run my leg. Then he hung out with Julia while I ran. It’s a bit blurry, but it’s the only picture I have of me running. After the race, we stopped for pictures at the top of the pass. And then we’re to the ferry home. And it was the most beautiful ferry ride home ever.

A Coffee Date

Image
The weekend before Bella left, we had a bunch of shopping and prep stuff to do, so Cathy took the boys on a date to Costco and to get hot chocolate. So Pat, Bella and I went to get coffee before we went to the store. While we were shopping, I got a message from Cathy. They were having hot chocolate at the exact same table at the exact same coffee shop that we were at.

Lots of Pictures

Dang, I hang a lot of pictures to catch up on. Be warned, this could get long… I don’t even remember why he was doing this, but I turned around to this and it was super proud of himself. Silly kid tried to steal my car!! He’s very into the military right now. Perry got left up at Grammy’s house the last time that Gabe and Pat went up there. Grammy put it in the mail the next day, but he decided to take the very long way home. Perhaps he was flying himself? It got to the point where we’d started looking for another Perry to replace him… But he finally made it home and we had a very happy little boy. They look like they want to start a band… It’s hard to ride on Daddy’s shoulders with his face is covered in “hokey pokeys.” Sometimes you just need a Mama snuggle. We went to the bank to get some papers notarized and Josy decided to fill in. It seemed like a good night for a fire, so naturally someone had to make smores. He was super proud of himself for doing this puzzle, but you wouldn’t
