A Pirate Village

Gabe’s creativity astounds me. I don’t know where he gets it, but he definitely has the ability to come up with elaborate things in his head and then figure out how to make them work.

For the last couple of days, he’s been making boats out of construction paper at school. Yesterday he made a boat,  life boat, a cannon and a person. When he got home, get added a beach, a tent, a fire, a treasure chest, a map and a shovel. Then he told me an elaborate story:

Once upon a time there was a pirates who was sailing on his ship. Then he saw land. He got off his boat onto his rowboat. Then he got off his rowboat and searched for the treasure. He set up a camp on the island. He found the treasure. The end.
