3 Years Apart

Image
My Facebook Memories popped up this picture yesterday... Ironically enough, I had already picked out Josy’s clothes and it was the same outfit. Unfortunately, he didn’t want to recreate the pose... The funniest part is that one boy is 10 months old and the other is 16 months old. The outfit is 9 months. I don’t remember how well the outfit fit Gabe, but Josy has just about outgrown it...

10 Months

Image
This little guy is 10 months old today! He is a busy little thing, crawling everywhere and getting into everything. He’s figured out how to climb the stairs, which I’m not particularly happy about. And today he discovered the toilet, so I think my life is about to get more interesting... He survived his fourth ear infection this month and will be getting tubes whenever the hospital lets us. He also popped his first tooth last week! But despite ear infections and teething, he’s still a perpetually happy little guy, who is pretty sure that his big brother and his daddy are the best people in the entire world. I think I come in at a distant third... Also, he insists on holding some sort of fabric when he sucks his thumb. Sometimes it’s my shirt. Sometimes it’s his shirt. Sometimes it’s a bib. I’ve started noticing clothes in his crib in the morning when I wake him up. It turns out that he’s grabbing dirty laundry out of his hamper so he has something to snuggle with...

Our First Week at Home

Image
We have survived our first week at home! I know other people have been home for a couple of weeks, but both Pat and I have been considered essential employees and daycare was still open, so the last two weeks have been pretty normal. But last Friday was the last day of daycare and my essential-ness ended over the weekend, so now we’re home. I’m working from home as much as I can, but with two little boys who are on opposite napping schedules (this is the first moment all week where they’ve both been asleep at the same time and I’m expecting it to end at any given moment!) working has been difficult. We’ve got a nanny that’s going to show up next week, which will help a lot as far as getting any work done. But for now we’re enjoying being home and I’m enjoying just hanging out with my boys. The weather has been beautiful, although it’s been cold. But we’ve been bundling up and trying to get out as much as we can. Gram and Gramps have been on quarantine since they got back, so we decided...

Our Morning...

This morning I got out of the shower to hear both boys yelling for me. I tripped over Lucy as I got to Gabe’s room, where he was yelling that he needed to go to the bathroom and couldn’t hold it much longer. He ran to the bathroom in too big of a hurry to even turn on the light. I got Josy up and went back to the bathroom to tell Gabe that if I’m in the shower he can get out of bed and go to the bathroom. Suddenly I hear a splash. I turn on the light to see Lucy stuck in the pee filled toilet. She manages to climb out, spraying pee water all over Gabe, me and the entire bathroom. Needless to say, Gabe got a shower, I got another half shower, Lucy got a shower and now I need to wash all the towels in the house. What a way to start the day...

An Addendum...

Actually, having a kitten and a 4-year-old is pretty fun too...

Lucy

I definitely recommend getting a kitten and a baby at the same time. The kitten thinks she’s a baby and just uses all of the baby’s stuff! Also, the baby likes playing with the cat toys too. Okay, that one is actually a little gross, as both Lucy and Josy will carry around Lucy’s stuffed mouse toy, but other than that, it’s been great! Lucy even cleans up spitup messes from the floor...

Too Cute...

This picture is so cute that it deserves a post all by itself...
