Breakfast with Santa!

Image
We went to Breakfast with Santa this morning. It was fun, other than the fact that we somehow got lost in shuffle and waited for pancakes for a very long time, but we saw a lot of friends and we even saw Santa! Josy was all about Santa until we actually got up there. Then he refused to see him. The only way that he would talk to him at all was because I told him that he couldn’t have the candy cane if he didn’t at least talk to him. But I got this picture…

Bonbons

Image
On Thursday we decided to roll bonbons. Obviously, this has to include White Christmas. In fact, I said “let’s roll bonbons tonight” and Gabe ran to find the movie… This was Josy’s first time actually rolling bonbons. He rolled one. Then he was finished. Gabe, on the other hand, did really well. He managed to roll nearly half a pan!

A Long Weekend

Image
It’s only Saturday night and I’m already exhausted from this weekend! Last night was Pat’s Christmas party, which was a lot of fun. But in order to pull off this whole weekend, I had to pick the boys up from school, get home as quickly as possible, make a cake, pick up the house, get the boys in the bathtub…and then get ready to go to the party. That said, we had fun. Then this morning, the boys and I went to the craft market to sit at the booth for the boys school. Then we got home and had an hour and a half to decorate the cake, eat lunch and do more cleaning before we went to Gabe’a last soccer game of the year. We got home from the game and had an hour to finish picking stuff up, put away all of the fragile things and do everything else that needed to happen to prepare for the party. Then at 4, 8 extra kids showed up at our house and the entire house was turned into a giant nerf gun war. The kids thought it was awesome. Plus we had pizza, cake, presents and a piñata. Does it get be...

A Very Long Week

Image
This has been a very long, hard week. First off so, Pat has been out of town for work all week. So that makes life hard. Second, Josy has had a chore that he needed to do and rather than just doing it, he decided that he didn’t want to and spent every evening not doing it. Yesterday he spent a half hour loudly singing Christmas carols, rather than spending 10 minutes just finishing it up. I still can’t pick anything up. While I’m feeling better, I still have a weight restriction. On top of yet, my shoulder and neck have been giving me a lot of drama, so I’ve spent a lot of time at the chiropractor. And poor Gabe got some warts taken off of his feet. He’s been in a lot of pain and has had a really rough time with it. And since I can’t even pick him up to carry him when his feet hurt, it’s made lot more complicated. I’ve been putting him on his bike and pushing him around. He’s finally acting like himself again, but his feet are stop bugging him. All that to say, it’s been a very lon...

Thanksgiving

Image
With everything else going on this year, we decided to do a very low key Thanksgiving. We invited Claudia and her kids over and it was just the 7 of us. We started the day with monkey bread. I introduced Gabe to biscuits in a can and my fear of those cans. Then we ran the Turkey trot. It was very cold and wet and windy and the boys were convinced that we were trying to torture them. I was all excited to actually run for the first time since my stress fracture, but Josy would have none of it as “this is not a race, it’s a trail!!” I did run .05 miles, but that was literally because I saw the turnaround spot, left him in the middle of the trail, ran to the turnaround and back to him. That said, it felt so good to even think about running again. Then we went home and started cooking and working on a puzzle. And I made my first apple pie!! It was quiet and low key. But really nice. And then on Friday we got the puzzle finished!

Silly Boys

Last weekend, they both got dressed, all by themselves. And somehow they both dressed exactly like their personalities.

The Wedding

Image
Cathy got married! (Or Catherine, as prefers likes to be called. I’ve just known her entirely too long to suddenly switch names…) It was a beautiful wedding. It was very small and no frills, exactly like they wanted it. The boys were the ushers, with they did less “helping people to their seats” and more “looking adorable”… But seriously. Could they be any cuter??? Somehow, even though Pat and I had not discussed footwear and we got dressed separately, we managed to match our shoes. Great minds think alike and all. Also, as comfy as those shoes are, I threw them away when I got home. The boys were in all of the wedding pictures. The ceremony was pretty short, which was good. Gabe was fine. Josy was bored. Then we all went to the brewery for a toast. They had a funny wall with sequins that you could flip back and forth in order to draw pictures or write things. My little artist has entirely too much fun with that. Josy, on the other hand, never left Pat’s lap. He’s smacked his head on a...
