Easter Eggs

Image
We decorated Easter Eggs tonight. I was all ready to help Josy decorate eggs for the first time, but then someone decided that he didn’t want to finish his dinner, so he missed out. He watched the whole time and it actually made life much easier that he was contained, so I’m not going to complain. Gabe, on the other hand, was all in. He was super excited and wanted to keep dying eggs and thought it was great. He would have kept going, except that we ran out of eggs. Every time we’d pull and egg out he’d say “Steady. Steady as she goes.” He has pirates permanently on the brain. He decided to take off his shirt with two eggs left to dye. They turned out pretty good. Plus, you can see the fun new table runner I made. It was my Sunday project when Pat and Gabe have been skiing. Also, this was my first glitter project. I can see why everyone hates it...

Breakfast Bites

Image
Every morning when I eat my breakfast, I look over and this is the face that is looking back at me. He wants a bite of my breakfast and I think he’s convinced that the wider he gets his mouth, the more food I’ll shovel in. And it usually works. Silly kid ears half my breakfast in the morning... This morning he finished my breakfast and looked at Gabe and made the same face. Gabe was not excited about sharing... In other news, Josy is now wearing the firetruck jammies. Gabe was wearing these when Josy was born and since he loved to match his brother, I managed to find firetruck jammies in every single baby size, so they could match. But as Josy grew threw clothes, Gabe still wore the exact same 2T pair. Now Gabe has finally moved to 3T and Josy is wearing the 2T ones and it has me weirdly sentimental. It’s just a silly pair of jammies, but they’ve been a part of life for a very long time...

A Rough Week for Josy

Image
This little guy has had a rough week. It was time to wean. He did pretty good with it the first two days, but the last two days have been harder. I’ve gotten him up and he’s asked for milk and I told him no, that he’s a big boy now and big boys don’t drink mommy milk. Both days he threw himself down on my chest, sobbing dramatically. It was bad enough that Gabe told me that I needed to just give him milk. Poor baby! This was a chopstick. He put it in his water and tried to use it as a straw. He pulled all of his animals out of bed this morning. This made it hard to get him dressed... Plus, he found one of Gabe’s animals and was very excited about it!

Sunday

Look at my two little handsome little men sitting at church! That sweet moment didn’t last very long. Everyone around me told me that they did great and were behaving themselves, but there was a lot of running in circles around the pew and this... During the children’s sermon, Gabe went up to the front. Josy couldn’t decide if he wanted to do with him or not, so he stood at the back, flipping between the pew and the aisle. Eventually Gabe saw him and yelled in front of everyone “come here Josy!” Josy decided that he should go to the front and the youth pastor decided to hold off the prayer until Josy got there. She also asked the kids “what is sin?” and Gabe piped up with “the bad things we do that Jesus doesn’t.” Um, yes. The youth pastor later told me that she’d put in her notes “pause and wait for Gabe to say something profound.” Then we finished the day with some Yogarggg. Let me tell you, getting a parrot to stay on your hip and your booty at the same time is hard!

Random Pictures...

Catching up on the last little while... I spent a long time trying to get a cute picture of Josy in this sweater, since he looked so cute. It’s a good thing too because when Gramps got him up from his nap, he looked like this... I’m guessing that sweater will not survive Josy. Playing with Daddy... My helpful little pirate  Gram and Gramps watched Josy so that the three of us could go skiing before they went back to Arizona for a couple of months. Meanwhile, Josy decided that he needed to go with Gram and Gramps. Gabe decided that Gramps wasn’t going anywhere. We’ve finally started letting Josy watch a little TV. He doesn’t get much, but it is fun to get to watch a few things all together. I have no idea where Pat was, but I’m pretty sure I took this to send him to make him jealous about all the fun he was missing out on. Gabe got creative on coming up with a sheath for his sword. Morning snuggles with my little guy who is currently way to wiggly to want to snuggle with me very often.

A Weekend with Josy

Image
This weekend, Josy and I got to have a special Mommy-Josy weekend. Gabe had an appointment with the eye specialist, so he and Pat decided to spend the weekend visiting Grammy and Grandpa Jim, as well as going to the appointment. So it was just Josy and I at home. Pat picked up Gabe from school at lunch on Friday, which meant that Gabe had to say goodbye to Josy at school. He actually followed Josy into the toddler room in order to give him a big hug, and he got Blippi doggy, his special nap stuffed animal, and gave him to Josy to use at his naptime. There was a women’s retreat at church and I figured that I was going to miss it, since taking a toddler to a retreat kindof kills the entire purpose of going. But a friend volunteered her husband to babysit and Josy had a great time hanging out with some friends. The retreat was amazing and I’m really glad that I got to go, even though it means that I missed out on a bit of our special weekend just the two of us. We just had to make up for
