The Last Day

Sadly, all good things much come to an end and this trip was no exception. Work and school and cats and the rest of our regular life is calling to us and it’s time for us to go.

But we had one more last fun day…

We had one more early morning of snuggles by the Christmas tree.

This turned into an epic game of seeing what animals the boys can be. It turns out that I have some very creative boys. Here is Gabe being a screaming mountain goat.

M: Josy, do you want to go to the park?
J: No. I want to take a nap wight here.

Clearly he is still tired.

Then he decided that he needed to do his “stwetches” on his “stwetching wug.”

Eventually we did make it to the park.

We went back to the mall and picked up our pottery that we made last week. Gabe was so proud of his fighter jet! He’s determined that on all war holidays (Veteran’s Day, Pearl Harbor Day, 4th of July…) he’ll put it on the piano to decorate.

Then we had one last family dinner, more cousin play time and our last two cups of Advent tea (just a little late…) before we headed to bed.

Then we got up bright and early this morning and headed to the airport.

Dad is MVP, so he and Gabe got on the plane early. Josy and I had to wait, but then he got to meet the pilot, so I think we got the better deal. She even let him push a button!

And now we’re on the plane, headed home. Everyone was sad to leave, and there may have been a few tears, but it’s been a great trip.

And we have two cats who are definitely going to be ready to see us…
