A Long Hike

The weather was amazing while everyone was here, so we decided to go hiking. It was a long trail, about 6.5 miles round trip, but we figured that Gabe and Bryson could handle it.

Unfortunately, the trail starts out with some huge hills and Gabe was worn it before we got up those, so he needed a lot of motivation to keep going. Also, it was crazy hot. But Seth dropped his shirt in creek water and that suddenly gave him the drive to keep going. Snacks definitely helped also.

We made it to the top! Just in time for lunch…

Since Dad carried him all the way up, it was Josy’s turn to carry Daddy…

It is hard to hike when you have to carry rocks with you. I think he had four in his pocket and this big one he was planning to tie a stick to in order to make it a golf club. Also, with that many rocks in your pants, your pants tend to fall down…

It was a great hike and a beautiful day and a lot of fun. And maybe we’ll try and convince Gabe not to pick up so many rocks next time…
