Australia: Day 3
We had a much slower day, which I think we all needed. We started the day with a couple of visitors to our porch.
A kookaburra:
And a parrot that we’d seen at the wildlife preserve, but I don’t remember the name of.
Then we had an incident where Josy gave me a hug attack and the top of his head collided with my chin and it knocked me a little loopy and my chin still hurts. So that’s fun…
Then we took the water taxi over to Manley, which meant we had some great views on the way over.
Then we stopped by a Swedish restaurant for the best pastries I’ve ever had.
Then we played at Manley Beach. The waves were crazy enough that we didn’t let the boys go into the water very far. But then a blue jellyfish washed up, so we pulled them out of the water entirely. After that, there was an announcement on the PA that a shark had been spotted, so everyone needed to get out of the water. They even put up signs and sent a jetski out to find it.
By that point, we were hungry anyway, so we went and got lunch and started watching election results. Gabe was a little confused at why there were US election results in the tv when we’re in Australia, but we got to have some fun politics conversations.
After some shopping, we headed back across there bay and then walked across the bridge to our house.
We crashed for a bit, which was nice as apparently some of us managed to get sunburned, and then got dinner close to the house.
Then Josy went to bed and the other three of us started reading Harry Potter.
It was a good way to end the evening.
