New Paint!

When we got married three years ago, I moved into Pat's house. It was, well, a bachelors house. Let's just say that I had a lot of work to do to get it ready to be lived in nicely. The furnace had a leak and had leaked a bunch of soot into the house. The leak had been fixed, however, there was still soot on the walls and it was gross. So we had to repaint everything.

We were ready to work on the living room when we discovered that there was leak in the roof which was leaking into the living room and rotting the sheetrock. That turned into needed to wait for better weather to fix the problem. Then we had to wait for nasty weather to see if the problem had been fixed. Then we had to get another contractor to try again. Basically, it took us a year to fix the leak. The Gabe showed up and everything got pushed back. Then we had to find a plaster guy, which ended up being complicated. Basically, for the last two years, my walls have been painted, but the ceiling was not and the lines were terrible because we didn't think this project would take so long.

We finally got the plaster guy to fix the ceiling and yesterday we got the whole ceiling painted! It looks so nice! And after three years of marriage, my house is finally painted!

In other news, Bella got to go skiing for the first time with her class on Friday. It's kindof a cool program that they teach all the fifth graders how to ski. We need to get her up a few more times while she still gets a free lift ticket.

And here are a few pictures from the last few days...

How can you resist that smile???

Helping Bella get ready to go skiing.

Gabe ripped up the paper at the doctor and then refused to put it down so I could put his sweatshirt on...

While we painted, the kids spent the day with Gram. She had Gabe lifting weights.

He's very proud of his new pulling-himself-up skills.
