Painting

This weekend was a little crazy. Dad and I painted the kitchen, living room and dining room. It was a lot of work. Dad spent the last week doing some prep work during the week, filling holes and taking down curtain rods. Friday night I cleaned out all of the toys and anything extra that could be moved. Then Saturday morning we started taping at 9. And noon we started painting and I finished cleaning brushes at 10pm. It was a long day. I don’t think either of us could move by the time we were done.















Gabe was super excited to help. He did a really good job…for awhile. Then he got too crazy and I couldn’t trust him to not get paint everywhere, so we made him stop. He was not happy about that.



Then Sunday Pat and I pulled the tape off and put the house back together. I also insisted on doing crazy things like moping before we put the furniture back. I don’t know when our house has ever been this clean!! (Minus the paint stuff that needs put away once I do a few more touch ups…)



It looks so good and it feels so clean and fresh. Also, I haven’t put any of the toys back. I kindof don’t want to…

Josy is a funny little boy. The things that come out of his mouth are the best. And sometimes he describes things in a really funny way. Yesterday we went on a bike ride and there was a worm on the plastic wind cover, but he kept telling me that there was a worm on the windshield and it took me a while to figure it what he was talking about. I thought he saw a stick on a car’s windshield that we drive past… J: We need to get out our Halloween decorations. M: Oh, we already did. J: Where are they??? M: We don’t have any. So they’re already out. J: We need to get some! M: No. I don’t do anything scary. J: It’s not scary. It’s just a pot. M: What? J: The pot at Home Depot, with the fake blood. We need to get it. M: No J: It does not give me nightmares. The guy with the beak and the goggles, that gave me nightmares. ———— J: It would be cool if my lunchbox had batteries! Then I could play video games! M: That would be weird. J: Not weird. Awesome. Then I could play video games all the time....

A Car Wash

Spring is finally here and it feels so good!! I mean, it still freezes overnight, which makes for sound very cold morning runs, but then it’s warm during the day. In fact, it was so warm, that Gabe wanted to run in the sprinkler. Pat had screwed the sprayer on so tight that I couldn’t get it off, which was the only reason he didn’t… Instead he decided to wash the car. I’m not going to say that the quality of the car wash was the best, but I will not complain about a kid wanting to wash my car. Yesterday there was a sports team doing a car wash fundraiser and I was going to take the car in, but Gabe was proud of his washing job, so we didn’t. I think my car is going to look like this for a while… Then we got dinner at the food trucks and headed home for a fire and s’mores.

A Very Cold Day

We had another round of ski lessons yesterday. Unfortunately, it was cold. Very, very cold. Realistically it was just the wind chill. We would have been fine skiing in the teens, but the wind knocked it down and extra 15 degrees and that was too much. Pat and I took our gear, but decided it was way too cold, so we hung out in the lodge waiting for the boys.  A half hour into the lesson, I got a call from a friend that works up there that Josy was in the office. He’d made it a half hour before deciding that it was too cold to ski. So he hung out in the lodge with us. Gabe made it the whole time and didn’t want to quit to come inside. But Pat told him no and as soon as he came in, he realized that his fingers and ties were numb.  We ate lunch and then headed home. Hopefully the weather will be more pleasant next weekend…
