Utah/California: Day 8

We went to the Safari Park today. I’ll be honest, it was a bit of a letdown. I mean, it was fun, but everyone has always talked about how this was the coolest park in San Diego. Um, it would have been cool if we could have done any of the extra safari pieces, but we really didn’t want to pay $70-$90 per person on top of the entrance fee. Also we have a 4 year old, who definitely won’t remember any of this. So we decided to just to the walking parts of it, which should have been fine, but then we didn’t hardly see any animals. We couldn’t find the cheetahs or the lions. When we went to the elephants, the lady told us that they weren’t out and we should come back in 2 hours. We really wanted to see the kangaroos, but we never found them. Overall, we just didn’t feel like we saw much.

That said, we still managed to have fun.

The coolest animal we saw was the platypus. It was the first time I’d seen one in person and they were a lot smaller than I expected.

After we left, we stopped by beach a couple of blocks from our house and saw an amazing sunset!
