A Long Day of Travel

One of the fun parts of being a parent, is surprising your kids. So the night before we left on our trip, we told the boys to close their eyes because we had a surprise.

When they opened them up, they were looking at matching dinosaur suitcases. They were so excited that we could probably call that Christmas and they’d be happy. Josy promptly filled it with stuffed animals.

It was a busy evening, filled with packing and getting ready to go, as well as getting the new fridge organized. Because obviously getting a new fridge delivered the night before leaving is the best plan…

But we managed to get all ready to go and Wednesday morning we headed to the airport.

We ended up with a 9 hour layover in Seattle, so we went into town fun lunch and to explore. Unfortunately it was really cold, so we didn’t want to spend too much time outside, so we headed back to the airport. Everyone was crazy tired, and Gabe and Pat fell asleep on the light rail…

Our flight wasn’t until very late, so the boys were completely exhausted. They were little troopers and I was very impressed with them, but they were tired.

By the time we landed in Salt Lake City, filed a claim for our missing suitcase, got the rental car and got to the hotel, it was 2:15am. Needless to say, everyone collapsed into bed the moment we had the chance.
