Breakfast Cookies
Last night, through a bizarre set of circumstances that involved other people forgetting they were supposed to be meeting us at our house, we ended up with some extra time. So the boys and I decided to make the breakfast cookies that I’d found the day before in my essential oil magazine.
Then they mixed the ingredients.
Then we all had to yell repeatedly to Josy that he needed to stop eating the dough.
More yelling at Josy not to eat the batter. Then Gabe started asking about licking the forks.
Then the cookie inspector showed up and had to be shooed away.
Then I rearranged all of the cookies and reshaped them all into reasonable cookie sizes and shapes. Kindof.
They tasted pretty good. Although it is possible that you shouldn’t put a two year old in charge of making bananas as they ended up being pretty big chunks…
The boys were actually very helpful. I let them do the whole thing. First they mashed the bananas. I gave them forks, but they decided that fingers worked better.
Then they mixed the ingredients.
Then we all had to yell repeatedly to Josy that he needed to stop eating the dough.
Then they put them on the cookie sheet.
More yelling at Josy not to eat the batter. Then Gabe started asking about licking the forks.

Then I rearranged all of the cookies and reshaped them all into reasonable cookie sizes and shapes. Kindof.
Then I put them in the oven, chased down little boys who thought they could wander the house covered in cookies, washed both boys hands and faces, let them finally lick the forks, wiped up all of the cookie mess off of the floor, explained to them yet again that these are breakfast cookies, so we’ll eat them for breakfast, and finally pulled them out of the oven.
They tasted pretty good. Although it is possible that you shouldn’t put a two year old in charge of making bananas as they ended up being pretty big chunks…
But we all had fun, right?
